ALTERNATIVE SUPPLIES OF NATURAL GAS. EU STRATEGY FOR LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS
Abstract
The article examines the highlights of the evolution of the energy market in Europe over the last few years. Increased energy consumption requires secure supplies, reasonable contracts, alternative sources. Difficulties in decision-making are analyzed in the presence of multiple alternatives and declining satisfaction with the choice, in cases where the decision-maker is faced with a complex choice. The reason is the availability of a lot of information, lack of time or experience in assessing the costs and benefits of different alternatives.
The EU strategy for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and its conservation is an element of the Energy Union, which aims to give concrete expression to the EU's ambition to make a rapid transition to a sustainable, secure and competitive energy system, as well as to end dependence on external gas suppliers. It must be consistent with the framework strategy for a sustainable energy union, so as to contribute to increased security of energy supply, to decarbonisation, to the long-term sustainability of the economy and to ensuring affordable and competitive energy prices. Keywords
