Study of the connection between good communication in healthcare facilities with the quality of the offered health service and the image of the healthcare institution
Abstract
More than half of respondents are on the opinion that good communication between healthcare workers has an impact on the level and quality of the health services offered. The opinion of the surveyed physicians is that the level of communication at the workplace is important for the quality of the services provided. Increasing the education of the respondents also increases the relative share of those who think that good communication between the staff in the health care facility is of importance for the quality of the offered medical services. Medics, chaning their workplace more often, register a higher percentage of those who find that communication at their workplace is not effective enough. According to more than half of respondents the level of communication with their colleagues affects the image of the health care facility. With increasing labor remuneration (over BGN 1000), the medics who give priority to good communication for the image of the team become the most. In the case of the medics working in a team with a number of less than twenty, the importance of communication with colleagues and its influence on the image of the establishment is higher than that of the medics working in bigger teams. According to almost half of all participants in the survey, good relationships and good communication between healthcare workers, working in a health care facility, are essential to patients' attitudes towards the same.
