CAPITAL PENSION FUNDS IN BULGARIA - DEVELOPMENT, CURRENT SITUATION AND PROSPECTS

Abstract


The publication presents characteristics and historical development of the pension funds, organized on funded principle. The aim of the present study is to analyze the Bulgarian experience in introducing of supplementary pension insurance in private pension funds in the context of practices in other countries with capital pension schemes. Such an analysis is important to define the role and the importance of supplementary pension insurance in the whole pension system and the economy of the country.
