EVALUATION AND ANALYSIS OF THE EFFICIENCY OF ECONOMIC HIGH SCHOOLS USING THE DEA (DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS) METHOD
Abstract
The present report analyzes the efficiency of economic high schools in Bulgaria by applying the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model. For the purposes of the study, the software MAXDEA 12.2 was used to assess the technical efficiency of schools, with appropriately selected input and output variables. The results indicate that the average efficiency of the analyzed high schools is 0.8634, with nine schools achieving maximum efficiency (1.000), while the rest show varying degrees of deviation from the efficiency frontier. The analysis reveals significant differences in resource utilization and achieved results, suggesting opportunities for optimization and the sharing of best practices. Based on the obtained data, recommendations have been formulated to improve efficiency through better resource management, the promotion of best practices, and the implementation of measures to enhance educational outcomes.
