THE IMPACT OF MIGRATION PROCESSES ON THE LABOR MARKET IN BULGARIA
Abstract
This study explores the impact of migration processes on Bulgaria’s labor market in the context of demographic change, socio-economic transformation, and the globalization of labor. It analyzes the negative effects of ongoing emigration — including population decline, brain drain, and structural unemployment — as well as the potential positive contributions of return migration and the inflow of foreign labor. The research examines the challenges faced by institutions and policies in employment, integration, and human capital development. It provides recommendations for more flexible and targeted measures to ensure the sustainable development of the labor market.
