BIOCLIMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF PLOVDIV AND THE REGION

Abstract


In present study the authors aim to characterize the bioclimate of Plovdiv and the region by applying a set of bioclimatic indices: equivalent temperature (EΤ˚), equivalency-effective temperature (EET˚), normal equivalent temperature, radiation-equivalent-effective temperature (REET). For the cold part of the year the following cooling indices are applied: the Arnold method, the Sapp and Pascal method, and the Bodman method. Climate data from the NIHM reference books about Hissarya, Sadovo, Plovdiv, Asenovgrad and Boykovo and weather forecasts were used.
