Georgi Kesov

Abstract

Effective leadership is a vital component of health care systems and has a wide range of functions to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Healthcare organizations, in particular hospitals, are considered large and complex modern organizations, due to their sophisticated procedures and various resources. The performance of work duties and the normal flow of the work process depend on the knowledge, skills and personal incentives of human resources.

Given the importance of human factors to any organization, consistent leadership is needed to achieve high performance and improve employee capabilities to improve quality of care and outcomes

Studies reveal that most of the problems of health care systems are due to poor communication and leadership. Poor leadership can increase costs, reduce efficiency and effectiveness, and cause staff dissatisfaction, ultimately leading to team conflict, patient satisfaction, and public health.
